PHOTOBOOTH - IDHAYAM MURALI
Idhayam Murali Photobooth is an interactive event photography experience created for the movie’s success meet. It automatically captures guest photos, applies a custom movie-themed print layout, and produces a personalized physical keepsake within seconds.
Overview
The photobooth was designed as an engaging event installation that combined photography, automation, and movie branding. Guests could stand in front of the booth, pose for a photograph, and receive a professionally designed print featuring the movie logo, event title, bilingual quote, cast and crew credits, and custom artwork.
The Requirement
The requirement was to create a memorable and interactive attraction for the Idhayam Murali success event. The solution needed to capture guest photos quickly, apply the approved movie design automatically, preserve the original photograph, reduce manual operation, and deliver a physical print that guests could take home
What We Built
A complete automated photobooth system was developed using Python, an external camera, gesture detection, and a connected printer. The system included a live camera preview, peace-sign capture, countdown animation, automatic photo processing, branded print composition, and instant printing. The final layout retained the original photograph ratio without unwanted cropping and included the Success Meet title, movie branding, Tamil and English quote, production credits, cast and crew details, and a train illustration.
Outcome
The completed photobooth delivered a smooth and entertaining event experience. Guests could interact with the camera naturally and receive a personalized movie-themed print within seconds. The installation increased audience engagement, created shareable moments, and provided visitors with a memorable souvenir from the success meet.
